Wow. I don't write a post for four days and the whole freaking county goes to hell.
Today's post is close to home and so it deserves my comment. This article from the Sun fishwrap discusses the lawsuit a former Oakland Mills football player's father has filed against the Board of Education and some OMHS officials. The lawsuit stems from allegations that an assistant football coach at OMHS made attempts to physically assault this particular parent. This event happened last October, so why the delay? Obstensibly, because the player has since graduated and is in college. But, it's also worth noting that about a month after the incident at the bootball game with his father, the child was suspended for a week for being intoxicated in school.
I don't need to be involved in any legal nonsense, but from what I understand of the situation and of all those involved, this lawsuit is a total non-starter. I will say though, that it kills me sometimes how long some people take to decide that they were mistreated and harmed in some way, and decide to file suit.
