Happy President's Day!
Goodwill has a commerical out now that I guess shouldn't bug me, but it does.
In it, a Goodwill worker is looking through donated clothes, reading the names on the designer labels. I guess the point of this was to say that at Goodwill, you can find high-quality, designer brands. Anyway, the guy talks about how odd it is that people have sewn their names in the clothes. But then he says words to the effect of: "Then again, my mom did the same thing for me. But she wrote my name in my clothes using a marker". The guy then looks into the camera and gives a dopey-looking half-smirk.
Seems to me to have the dude in the commercial acting like a dullard in the end, that you're kind of defeating the purpose of the commercial, which is to make people comfortable about shopping at Goodwill. Or, maybe the intent of the half-smirk is that the guy's just making fun of himself.
Either way, it's kind of goofy and I don't like it. No sir, not one little bit.

That's a shame. I do see the point they're trying to make - but I already know that if someone's willing to put in the time to pick through items, there are some pretty good deals at the GW centers. Like you say, I can't imagine this commercial would entice me if I didn't.
