I love this idea!
Here is an article in Patuxent about a proposed pathway connecting Blandair Park and Howard County general Hospital. The pathway would be developed by Howard Hughes Corporation and would involve input by CA and the county.
This pathway is exactly the sort of thing envisioned for Columbia redevelopment, and something like this has been talked about this for years, since the downtown charrette process several years ago. It is heartening to see this actually moving forward!
If I may allow a bit of space here for a wish, however. It would be wonderful if a pathway could encircle Lake Kittamaqundi. I know it's been discussed over the years, and it may be difficult in sports due to the wetlands, but it would be awesome to veer off the path between Blandair and the hospital and take an extra couple mile jog/walk/bike around the lake.

My interest in the redevelopment changed from suspicion to hope when I saw that they were thinking they MIGHT put that new exit on 29 at Oakland Mills VC and Lake Kittamaqundi. If they build that, it will be an overpass exit, and a walking path could easily connect the far side of the lake to the Promenade side, and probably encircle it.
