Well, whaddaya know? One week they're almost all closed down, the next week (almost), they're all open for free!
Maryland's own Assateague National Seashore-- inteed, the entire U.S. National Park System-- is free from April 16 through April 24-- perfectly timed for Howard (and Baltimore) County's spring break week! Read about it here.
If there's something that's more awesome than this, I don't know what could be. The idea behind this is to urge people to get out and take advantage of everything our wonderful national parks-- including Assateague-- have to offer!
With spring here and temperatures finally starting to warm up, I can't think of a better day trip. Since you have until Monday to finish your taxes (of course, they really should've been done months ago) get out there and enjoy!
