OK, so weren't the speed cameras in Howard F'ing County supposed to be placed in school zones, and were supposed to be alleviating speeding and thereby, increasing safety in those speed zones?
Well then, why in the name of Rodney Allen Rippy are there speed camera locations listed for this week? Schools are not in session this week, after all.
So does this tell us that a school zone remains a school zone, even if school is not in session? Quite curious.

Yeah, what is up with that? I was surprised to see a radar van parked in front of Glenelg HS today. Maybe I'm on crack, but I thought when the idea of radar vans were kicked around, it was reported that they were only to be used during the school year (and presumably not on days school was closed).
According to the HFCPD spokesperson, who got up from child's pose long enough to respond to my e-mail, that's not the case. Further evidence that this is all about money rather than public safety.
