Emboldened after her excellent chronicling of the dawn of Cakemania upon HFC, Sara Toth now brings us this article, back on her customary education beat, about the School Board coming to terms with the unions for all-- not some, mind you, but ALL-- of its employees.
I offer kudos, bravos, and a well-earned "Huzzah!!!" to our Board of Education for being so proactive on this. Especially in terms of coming to an agreement with the Howard County Education Association, whose members (or at least, some empowered subset of its members, no one is quite exactly sure what, and I even listened to that podcast!) don't like them so much.
It's a great idea always to put policy ahead of politics. It's also good that there won't be any union contentiousness to deal with entering into next school year, and definitely not entering what promises to be an oh-so-exciting BOE election season!
So now, let's see ALL school employes stoked, pumped, and jacked for the new year to begin!
