Anyone know the town of Daniels? Or, do you know that road you take at the bottom of Lawyer's Hill road in Elkridge that takes you out to the end of Bonnie Branch Road, along the Patapsco River and across the street from the state park?
Oh, no, and no? That's because those things don't exist anymore. They were wiped out when Hurricane Agnes hit in 1972. Kevin Rector, who is neither Lindsey McPherson or Sara Toth, wrote a nice piece about it here.
I remember when Agnes struck vivdly. The eye of the hurricane went straight up the Chesapeake Bay-- and in fact, I recall it going straight over my house. I remember the house being buffeted with wind and heavy rain--- then, nothing. My family and I went outside and the air felt light, as if I was at altitude. The sky was yellow, with black clouds on the edge of the sky, reaching about a third of the way towards the sky's zenith. That's the eye. We went in, and about 20 minutes later, it started raining again.
Howard County was so small at that time that Hurricane Agnes changed life in Howard County, forever. We will never see its like again. Thankfully, and hopefully!

Your recollection is wrong. The path of Agnes was not even close to the Chesapeake Bay, let alone your house.

Bummer, your URL failed to load in my browser.
OK, so it sounds as if this is an interest of yours. So, can you tell me what I DID see, if it wasn't what I understood it to be? because I did experience what I did; this was a good decade before I used any type of drug, so I know I'm not imagining this!
