So I was reading this article the other day, and while we all in the HFC wait with bated breath for the first application for a winery in Howard County, it would appear possible that Howard County already is in possession of its own marketable beverage product. And that would be, Howard County's water!
OK, so we know that most store brand bottled water is really just the public water supply of wherever the stuff is bottled. So why not "Howard County water"? At the very least, it could be given away (or even, gasp, sold at a small price, because God knows the county collects enough cash) at local events. How about next year's local publicly-sponsored excuse to vomit and catch venereal disease being called, "Wine (and Water) in the Woods?" How about the tourism office giving stoppers-in a bottle of HoCo H20 as they embark upon or seek respite from a tour of Main Street?
Howard County could do far worse things than market its local bottled water supply.
