This stuff is amazing. It's unbelievable that so much of this county is still being affected by these storms.
Monday, 18 schools are closed for their summer activities. A list of these schools can be found here. And apparently, most Howard Countians who lost power Friday night have had their power restored. Most, but not all.
I have to give kudos to county government for their high level of communication during this ordeal. NotfyMeHoward is a good-sized pain in the tuchus about 95% of the time, especially when it comes to the updates from the National Weather Service. But the NWS updates were very helpful in this experience, as have been the updates from county government on the numbers of residents without power, descriptions of the locations where there was extensive damage, streetlights out, etc.
To the weather-worn populace of the HFC, I must ask your patience and even your gratitude. Yes, this situation sucks hard. But, it's not like we're in Colorado and being burned out of our homes by wildfires. This too shall pass, folks.

The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can‘t have them.
