I enjoy the Howard County Fair, and this year's edition starts today (Saturday) at, naturally, the Howard County Fairgrounds. You can see the fact sheet from Patuxent Publishing about all the wacky goings-on here!
I truly appreciate the fact that over the years I've been attending the Howard County Fair, which have been over the last 35 or so, the fair has continued to stay true to its roots. It's pleasant, agricultutrally-based exhibits and entertainment mixed with rides and a carnival. There are pavilions of vendors, there's some politics involved (both major parties typically staff a booth on the runway), and the end of fair parade, which this year is apparently on August 11.
I urge all Howard Countians to go out and enjoy the fair this week!
