Just returned from a late morning excusion to Main Street. I'd say that the pedestrian traffic was about two thirds what it normally is on a summer Saturday, but given the train derailment, vacations, and the fact that schools damn near everywhere in Maryland start tomorrow, I didn't think that was so bad.
My travels took me from the parking lot behind The Wine Bin, through some window shopping (World Wide Toys, I Love Theatre, the antique mall), down past The Rumor Mill and to rubberneck what I could rubberneck of the damanage of the train derailment. I have no frame of reference of how long it takes a train derailment to clear, but I do have to say, I was impressed at how far along things seemed.
On the way back, I tried to figure out of I wanted some Penn State goodies from I Love Theatre, or a couple adult playthings....err, that came out wrong....ok, so, action figures from World Wide Toys. I couldn't decide, so I bought fudge. Then stopped into precious Gifts on the way back and had memories of my daughter's stuffed animal addiction.
It's a little below normal temperature-wise and a bit drizzly this weekend, so y'all need to get down there! If not today, tomorrow for sure! Don't let the weekend pass without making the trip.
