Dawn has a point. In order to understand the entire context of Ann DeLacy's paranoia and distrust, it's best to see all the e-mails. The entire thread from its inception, best as I can capture it, is here. I didn't paste the prior messages before because, honestly, I didn't see the jump from talking about school segregation (which I think is a real problem) to Ann's going on about herself.
I reamin uncertain as to why some people who I have a lot of respect for, for their commitment to ensuring equal treatment for all, choose to support this woman. She is, based on her public comments, one of the meanest campaigners I have ever encountered, and that's saying a lot. And I certainly do NOT think that as a board member, she would see all who come before her with equality and justice in her eyes.
"Gang of Four"? "Hate speech"? All the other name calling of Corey Andrews and others? Not nice. Not nice at all.
As I have written before, a shame, really, because this woman does bring a resume that the Board of Education could really use.
If you like Allen Dyer, you will love Ann DeLacy. Enough said. Anyway... to the thread!

Mr. Andrews,
Mr. Diller has his own agenda which has nothing to do with yours or supports your beliefs. Now you are being manipulated and used for anothers benefit. You were being attacked for your age and lack of experience and will coninue to face this for some time. In both cases it is your youth which is being exploited. I hope this helps you and sincerely wish you the best. The reality is soon we all must turn the world over to your generation. I honestly believe you will do quite well.

Here is a person (and former teacher) who did nothing but attack this HCPSS student time after time during the campaign for simply running for the BOE. She said that Corey was "a child playing dress up" for running (yes, a former teacher attacking a current HCPSS student for wanting to make a difference in the HCPSS). Then when he was out of the race and states who he's supporting, Ann viciously asks (out of no where) "Who died and made (him) God" (as though that even makes sense).

There is one thing very clear about Mr. Andrews and that is he is genuine and true to his beliefs. You can't ask any more than that of a man and he will never have his voice held against him for showing honesty and integrity.

If you want to start down this very slippery slope assigning donors and corruption to political parties, there isn't enough "ink" in this pen to capture it all. I'd also venture that for your age, you spend way too much time "talking" politics, focusing on conspiracy theories, and trolling sites like this one. If you aspire to be an elected official in your future, you might also want to think "ten times twice" about what you choose to write in this cyberspace that could/will come back to bite your ass and dash your hopes.

As a Democrat, I have been demonized by the Howard County Party because I dare to criticize other Dems and their policies and, how many times have I been called " a union thug"? The fact of the matter is that we all need to question any practice we believe to be unfair irrespective of the politics or the person. So, let us focus on the common good as the framers of our Constitution did.

Well, this isn't exactly the entire thread, nor does it provide context for the particular statement that I mentioned (in response to Mike F) needed context. Mike asked about Ann's statement that was in response to a question from "Michelle," which you (conveniently?) didn't include. And the whole discussion was in the context of a larger discussion after someone posted a link to the recent controversial article in The Atlantic on "Fear of a Black President."
To me, this post doesn't look like much "context" at all, but rather just another opportunity to take a shot at Ann DeLacy. (And I will say that I don't necessarily like or agree with everything Ann says, or the way she chooses to say it, but I like Corey Andrews' union bashing even less.)

And as an aside, I think the howardpubliced listserv is incredibly dysfunctional and would love to see a new group formed for people who actually want to discuss issues involving our school system like reasonable adults, without all of the personal sniping, conspiracy theories, and unhinged diatribes.
