Well.... that was fun. And it could have been a LOT worse.
At time of writing there remain a little under 16,000 HoCo BGE customers without power. Seeing as there had been about 25,000 out at one point, this is not too shabby.
The rain continues but the wind seems amazingly light. Relatively calm. And it is chilly-- mid 40s as opposed to mid 50s yesterday. And the wind drops it another 10 degrees.
Haven't yet been out on the roads to look at the mayhem. I am resting assured that there is mayhem.
It occurs to me that there could have been a lot worse damage. Thinking that the derecho in June was a good thing for this storm. The repairs from that damage possibly took care of a lot of old wiring and other infrastructure that was ready to go anyway. Looks like that with this storm, the repairs held!
