Well, there had been concern that with the federal budget now under sequestration, that Howard County's AAA bond rating would be possibly in jeopardy.
Luke Lavoie is here to tell us all that such concerns have proven to be balderdash, at least for the moment. He brings you all the good news here.
I am most pleased that the bond rating is maintained, at least for the time being. The HoCo is one of only 38 counties who receive the coveted AAA rating-- which is, of course, better than the federal government's own credit rating. Could Howard County, therefore, secede from Maryland and the union? Dare to dream, true believers!
If so, I want to be ambassador to Sweden.
On another note, I had another random run-in today, the second in two days, and this one at work! I saw former Howard County Health Director Peter Beilenson.
Peter is doing well and is happy for his time in Howard County. He felt he did good work here, which, I have to agree, he did! We had a pleasant, albeit too short chat.
All Howard County's former high-level officials who were appointed under Ken Ulman are fanning out all over the state, it seems. Gee, can it be that Ken will be calling upon that network to get himself through the Democratic primary in 2014? Could he be doing so already?
Ya think???
