Lots of stuff going on in and around the community this week. Let's hit on a few of the stories going on round town, shall we?
One downside, and apologies to all those whose articles I reference today. Windows 8, or TypePad, or both, aren't letting me cut and paste links today. Hopefully this clears up, but as it stands, it's damn annoying.
Compass Guy's "big conversation" has met the laser-like focus of Luke LaVoie. Luke writes about the new CA Business Plan, and it's discussion of CA's new focus to wellness and vitality on www.explorehoward.com this week. One shouldn't assume that with CA's shift in focus, that it's becoming the community association of the old fogey. One of CA's biggest money makers (and no one shakes their moneymaker quite like CA) remains child and youth services in CA. Especially CA's before and after care program. So stuff for the younguns is still quite the big deal.
Also in the news this week on www.explorehoward.com, there was a prostitution sting this week in the HoCo, and four women were arrested. You might have missed this, and if you did, frankly, I'm pretty damn glad you did!
Last, as seen on www.explorehoward.com, there is a cool article on Brian Bailey's campaign for Delegate in District 12. This week, the District 12 Democratic Primary for Delegate became the second contested primary in the county for the 2014 elections, and this, with the primary still a year away! Bailey and fellow Democrat Eric Ebersole joined the race. Can you name the other contested primary: If you said the Democrats for District 1, with Dave Grabowski and Johnathan Weinstein, you are correct!
There's a notable departure from one of our local schools which is worthy of its own recognition. That will be the topic of tomorrow's post.
Have a Sunday Funday, everyone! Let's be careful out there.
