So already I've felt like kicking the trash can twice this year. In fact, this week. What the hell is wrong with people?
Locally, we have the news of this moron who was arrested for pepper spraying about 20 people at Arundel Mills while attempting to abscond with a pair of boots. Well, of course, what a perfectly-planned crime. How ever did it fail?
Although, to be fair, she only meant to pepper spray a few people. Most people who were affected were bystanders. Hell, I was about 15 miles from Arundel Mills when this happened, I just read about this crap-- and I feel like I've been pepper sprayed. This is awful.
But only about 3% as awful as this thing, because-- good Lord, someone died. In Florida (and why does so much F'ed up S happen in Florida?) a guy got pissed in a movie theater because another guy was texting, there was a bit of a verbal altercation, the texter tossed some popcorn, and then he and his wife were shot by this asshole. Oh, and the wife was wounded, while the horrible movie theater texter, who was apparently texting his three-year-old daughter's BABYSITTER, was killed. The latest on it is here. Asshole is held without bond. What a shock. I'd like to see this jerk taken out.
I realize that this post may turn into a discussion of gun control, and I do think that if you obey the law and live by the rules, you should be able to own and operate a gun. But, my God. Reading the shooter's profile, this is exactly the kind of guy I'd trust with owning a gun!
And I have t0 bellow a hearty "F YOU" to CNN for their coverage on this thing. Because their coverage of this is not exactly focusing on the victim, and on the sheer insanity of shooting two people, one to death, over texting in a movie and the tossing of popcorn??? Then again, this is the same network that overlooks rape. This is CNN.
Maybe before 2014 advances much further society can call an early time-out, like the coach of a basketball team on the wrong end of an early game 10-0 run? Because, quite literally, we need to stop the bleeding.
Haven't even talked about 16 homicides in Baltimore so far in 2014.
Let's be careful out there. Please!
