One of the things I enjoy about the local blogoverse is, well-- it's becoming more than a blogoverse! There are no small number of web and social media-based enterprises going on right here in the HoCo! This Friday night, I discuss two of my favorites.
Totally HoCo may be something you already know about, but I'm surprised how many other tech-savvy locals don't know about this resource. I've been watching the progress of this website for some time, and pleased that it has become an invaluable, if not essential, resource for finding out about all sorts of things going on in the HoCo. There's a lot of stuff I'm not even aware of going on here, and I'd like to think I'm aware of a lot! If you aren't using this resource, you are totally missing out and not taking advantage of what this county has to offer. And you can follow it on Twitter at @TotallyHoCo
The other resource is one I only recently became aware of, a few weeks ago. Amanda Fields from Laurel is part of the team that's marketing and adding value to a new app called LocalLynx. What LocalLynx does is bring you discounts on local businesses of all sorts near you. And before you go, "Hey, that's Groupon", Groupon doesn't bring you stuff from the businesses local to you. Not the family, mom and pop stores that need support. LocalLynx does. And, LocalLynx is GPS-friendly so it will travel with you, showing the local business deals wherever you are!
You would do yourself well to go into the app store of your choice, depending on the platform, download the LocalLynx app, and start saving yourself some cash today! And explore some local businesses you wouldn't otherwise patronize.
There you go-- another post off the beaten path. Sunday, however, we go back to digging into the same community/political milieu. What's a milieu? Look it up!
And let's be careful out there.
