Hogan and other Republicans have a good partisan reason for tackling redistricting reform. In every state where they can take away the Democratic party's edge, they'd be happy to do it. But why should Democrats give up their edge here if Republicans are not going to do the same in the states where they have the power to draw the political boundaries that go a long way in deciding how many members of their party get elected. We need a national requirement that every state turn over the redistricting to dreamy non-partisan commissions at the same time. Otherwise, why should Maryland Democrats shoot themselves in the foot? (I predict they won't.)

Kittleman held a love fest at the ACS Conversation with our County Executive on Tuesday. I too am impressed with the way he's begun. Excellent suggestion that the State of the County (or County of the State) be celebrated at Merriweather. It's a good way to encourage a more engaged electorate.

If this were the Apollo, Kittleman would've made it to the next round, but the Sandman would've yanked Hogan after 3-5 minutes. Buyers remorse must be settling in nicely throughout the state. Kittleman setting himself up nicely going forward, Hogan needs to not lose the number to his moving company........
